Freshii app redesign

Multiple phone mockups showing the redesigned Freshii ordering app screens

Project overview

Client: Freshii, a healthy food chain
Industry: Food and Beverage
Timeline: 8 weeks (2025)
My Role: UX Designer

Problem statement

  • Freshii’s mobile app plays a key role in customers’ food ordering experience, yet users encounter challenges that make the process less intuitive and efficient.
  • Without addressing these issues, the app risks reduced user satisfaction and lower customer retention. This project focuses on identifying these pain points and providing actionable design recommendations to improve usability and create a smoother, more engaging ordering experience.
Heuristic evaluation grid comparing the app against usability principles
  • Difficult navigation: the application should incorporate easy navigation and search bars to reduce scrolling behaviour, as users found it time-consuming and frustrating to go back and forth for any item.
  • Lack of transparency: the application lacked significant information around hidden costs and features; previews and information dialogues would avoid this lack of transparency, which was leading to annoyance.
  • Dynamic user flow: the application required restructuring so users could reach a particular page through different modes without going back and forth for each item or addition. Users felt frustrated by extra steps to reach item or offer pages.
